David Powell is an aviation medical doctor with a special interest in addictions amongst pilots. David was Chief Medical Officer for Air New Zealand and later Virgin Australia and was one of the foundation participants in the launch of HIMS programs in both New Zealand and Australia. He was subsequently medical advisor to IATA. David is passionate about aviation, holds commercial aeroplane and helicopter licences and has been a part owner of several aircraft - currently only a Cessna 172.
